MACCABI ELECTRA extends sharpshooter Blu
David Blu - Maccabi ElectraOne of the best three-point shooters in continental basketball is set to keep filling the baskets in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague, as Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv reached a new agreement with David Blu to extend his contract for one more season, the club announced Friday. Blu (201, 31) played a key role for Maccabi in the most important games of the 2010-11 Euroleague season. He averaged 14.5 points in 4 Quarterfinal playoffs games against Caja Laboral, hitting 13-of-25 shots from downtown. He also scored in double digits in the Final Four and Maccabi's second-best scorer in the title game with 14 points, including 3 bombs from beyond the arc. Blu averaged 8.9 points on 43.2% triples in 22 games last season. This will be Blu's sixth season with Maccabi, in three different runs. He also played the Euroleague with Le Mans, Climamio Bologna and Benetton Basket. Blu has been made the Israeli League finals MVP, leading Maccabi to the title. He has helped Maccabi to win three Israeli League and four Israeli Cup titles, as well as lifting the 2004 Euroleague trophy.
