BILBAO BASKET lands Grimau

Roger Grimau - Regal FC BarcelonaBizkaia Bilbao Basket added much-needed experience for its upcoming Turkish Airlines Euroleague debut next season by inking swingman Roger Grimau to a two-year deal, the club announced Monday. Grimau (1.96 meters, 32 years old) arrives from FC Barcelona Regal, where he had played for the last eight seasons, becoming the team's captain. He averaged 4.5 points and 1.4 rebounds in 20 Euroleague games last season. He has helped Barcelona to win three Spanish League titles and lifted three Spanish King's Cup trophies from 2004 to 2011. Grimau has also played for Joventut and Lleida in Spain before joining Barcelona, as well as for the Spanish national team at EuroBasket 2003, winning the silver medal. Grimau also won the gold medal with Spain at the 2001 Mediterranean games and the Spanish second division with Lleida in 2000-01.
