July 26, 2011
Tarence Kinsey - Fenerbahce UlkerA versatile veteran has switched Turkish Airlines Euroleague powerhouses as Anadolu Efes announced Tuesday the arrival of swingman Tarence Kinsey on a one-year deal. Efes also has an option to extend his contract until the end of the 2012-13 season. Kinsey (2.00 meters, 27 years old) arrives from cross-town rivals Fenerbahce Ulker, where he averaged 8.4 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.4 steals in 14 Euroleague games last season. He was a double-digit scorer in 10 games the season before that, when he returned to FB Ulker one year after leaving the club. Kinsey became a crowd favorite for his acrobatic dunks and defense. He helped FB Ulker win three Turkish League titles in 2008, 2010 and 2011, and they have lifted the Turkish Cup trophy together each of the last two seasons. Kinsey has also played for Cleveland and Memphis in the NBA since finishing his college career at the University of South Carolina (NCAA), which he led to back-to-back NIT titles in 2005 and 2006. Kinsey is also the founder of the The Tarence Kinsey Foundation, which supports community projects in his native Florida, United States.
