SLUC NANCY lands Batum
Sluc Nancy announced an agreement with small forward Nicolas Batum, who will play for the reigning French League champions this season. Batum (2.01 meters, 22 years old) arrives from Portland in the NBA, where he has played in the last three seasons. He averaged 12.1 points and 4.3 rebounds in 86 NBA games last season, helping the Trail Blazers to make it to the playoffs. Batum started his career with Le Mans, averaging 8.5 points and 3.5 rebounds in 13 Euroleague games in the 2007-08 season before joining Portland. He is also a regular member of the French national team. Batum helped France to win the 2006 European under-18 Championships and the 2006 Mannheim International Tournament, in which he was chosen the MVP. he also led France to a bronze medal at the World under-19 Championships in 2007.
