MACCABI ELECTRA adds Farmar
Jordan Farmar joins Maccabi Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv moved to shore up its backcourt by signing point guard Jordan Farmar, a two-time NBA champion, to a one-year deal on Wednesday. Farmar (1.88 meters, 24 years old, arrives from New Jersey of the NBA, where he averaged 9.6 points and 5 assists in 24.6 minutes per game. Farmar played the his first four years as a pro with the Los Angeles Lakers, winning NBA titles in 2009 and 2010 while coming off the bench for 18 minutes per game, averaging 6.8 points and 2 assists. His best season statistically with Los Angeles was 2007-08, when he put up 9.1 points and 2.7 assists in 20 minutes per game. Before becoming a pro, Farmar played two seasons for University of California at Los Angeles, leading the team to the NCAA's final game in 2006. Among his philanthropic ventures, Farmar has work at good-will basketball camps in Israel.
