FB ULKER brings back playmaker Demirel
Hakan DemirelTurkish League champion Fenerbahce Ulker improved its backcourt for the upcoming season by inking point guard Hakan Demirel to a one-year deal on Friday. Demirel (1.92 meters, 26 years old) arrives from Erdemirspor Belediyesi, where he averaged 11 points and 3.4 assists in 30 Turkish League games last season. he played for Fenerbahce from 2005 to 2008, in which he saw limited playing time due to injuries. He helped Fener to win back-to-back Turkish League titles in 2007 and 2008. Demirel has also played for Darussafaka and Tofas Bursa, as well as being a member of the Turkish national team. He helped Turkey to win the 2004 Albert Schweitzer Tournament, reached the 2004 European under-18 Championships final and also won a silver medal at the 2006 European under-20 Championships. Demirel also played at the 2006 FIBA World Championships.
