CAJA LABORAL brings back Prigioni
A legendary point guard is back to Vitoria to play for Caja Laboral, as the club announced that two-time All-Euroleague second team selection Pablo Prigioni inked a one-year deal with the Spanish powerhouse on Wednesday. Prigioni (1.93 meters, 34 years old) arrives from Real Madrid, where he averaged 5.4 points and 3.4 assists in 18 Euroleague games help season, helping the team to make it to the Final Four for the first time since 1996. He played for Caja Laboral, then called Tau Ceramica, throughout the prime of his career, helping the club to reach four consecutive Euroleague Final Fours between 2005 to 2008, making it to the title game in 2005. He won the 2008 Spanish League title and lifted Spanish King's Cup trophies in 2004, 2006 and 2009 with Tau, too. Prigioni, an All-Euroleague second team selection in 2006 and 2007, dished 15 assists in the 2006 King's Cup title game against Pamesa Valencia to earn MVP honors. Prigioni also helped Tau reach the Spanish League finals in 2005, 2006 and 2009. He ranks second on the Euroleague's assists (752) and steals (298) lists. Prigioni has also played for Lucentum and Fuenlabrada in Spain, as well as for Obras Sanitarias in Argentina. He is also a regular member of the Argentinean national team, which he helped to win the bronze medal at the 2008 Olympic games and reach the 2007 Tournament of the Americas title game. Prigioni is set to play at the 2011 FIBA Americas Championship this summer.
