Danilo Gallinari - AJ MilanoEA7 - Emporio Armani Milan is bringing one of the club's favorite sons back by signing Danilo Gallinari, who was the 2008 Euroleague Rising Star Trophy when he last wore the team’s colors. Gallinari (2.08 meters, 23 years old) has spent the past three seasons in the NBA, first with New York and then Denver. Last season he averaged 15.6 points and 4.9 rebounds in 62 games between those clubs. He spent the summer with the Italian national team, for whom he tallied 15.2 points and 6.4 boards in five games at EuroBasket 2011. The son of former Euroleague champ Vittorio Gallinari, who won the crown with Milano in 1987, the junior Gallinari followed in his father’s footsteps and made his Euroleague debut for the club as a 17-year old. He was a full-time starter and the team’s leading scorer before he turned 20 after averaging 14.9 points and 4.2 rebounds over 11 Euroleague games in the 2007-08 campaign. At the end of that season he overcame Partizan center Nikola Pekovic for the Euroleague Rising Star Trophy.
