KK ZAGREB signs center May
KK Zagreb bolstered its frontcourt by signing big man Sean May, who made his Turkish Airlines Euroleague debut last season with Fenerbahce Ulker. May (2.06 meters, 27 years old) averaged 4.3 points and 2.8 rebounds off the bench in eight Euroleague games last season. His numbers climbed to 5.6 points and 3.4 rebounds per game in the Turkish League and 6.4 points and 3.6 rebounds in the Turkish playoffs as he helped FB Ulker successfully defend its title. Before choosing to play in Europe, May played the parts of five seasons in the NBA, first with Charlotte and then Sacramento. His best season was his second, 2006-07, when May averaged 11.9 points and 6.7 rebounds over 24 minutes per game for Charlotte, however injuries limited him to 35 games that season and he missed the 2007-08 season with knee surgery. For his career May averaged 6.9 points and 4 rebounds in 119 NBA games. May enjoyed a standout college basketball career at the University of North Carolina, where he helped the Tar Heels win the 2005 NCAA championships. He was named MVP of that season's NCAA final four and was also an All-Atlantic Coast Conference First Team selection. Sean’s father, Scott May, had a successful career in Italy in the mid-1980s.
