BENNET CANTU tabs Gianella
Nico Gianella joins CantuBennett Cantu has improved its backcourt by inking point guard Nico Gianella until the end of the season, the club announced Monday. Gianella (1.87 meters, 33 years old) arrives from CB Granada, where he played for the last six seasons. He averaged 9.8 points and 2.7 assists in 30 Spanish League games last season. Gianella has also played for Caprabo Lleida and Plasencia in Spain, Tris Rieti, Viola Reggio Calabria and Rida Scafati in Italy and Estudiantes Olavarria and Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata in his native Argentina. He helped Estudiantes to win the Argentinean League title in 2000 and has also been a member of his national team. "Gianella is a mature player with great intelligence who will offer his experience and complementing Andrea Cinciarini, whose overall performance has made us very happy," Cantu sports director Bruno Arrigoni said.
