PANATHINAIKOS lands shooter Jason Kapono

On the heels of a big win that boosted its chances to win Group A, Panathinaikos Athens announced the signing of shooter Jason Kapono until the end of the season. Kapono (2.01 meters, 31 years old) arrives from the Los Angeles Lakers of the NBA, where last season he averaged 2.1 points in 26 games. A noted three-point marksman, Kapono made 43.4% of his three-point shots in a nine-year NBA career that saw him suit up for Cleveland, Charlotte, Miami, Toronto, Philadelphia and Los Angeles. His best season was in 2006-07, when he averaged 10.9 points on 51.9% three-point shooting. The previous season he won an NBA championship with Miami. Kapono is also a two-time winner of the three-point shootout at the NBA All-Star Weekend.
