ELAN CHALON inks Banks
Elan Chalon-sur-Saone found a new scoring guard in Cedrick Banks, who inked a deal with the reigning French League champions until January 5, 2013, when Marcus Denmon is expected to be recovered from his foot injury. Banks (1.90 meters, 30 years old) arrives from Turk Telekom Ankara, where he averaged 7.3 points and 2 assists in 4 Turkish League games this season. He has also played for Orleans, Limoges, Nancy and Besancon in France, Nebraska in the USBL and Maccabi Rishon Le-Zion in Israel since finishing his college career at the University of Illionis-Chicago. Banks played the 2009-10 Euroleague with Orleans, averaging 13 points and 3.2 rebounds in 14 games. He helped Orleans to win the French Cup title that season. Banks has also reached the French League title game twice - with Nancy in 2007 and Orleans in 2009. He replaces Brion Rush, who reached an agreement to leave Chalon to join BC Astana of Kazakhstan.
