ELAN CHALON picks up promising rookie Denmon
Elan Chalon found a potential go-to guy for its Turkish Airlines Euroleague debut after signing promising rookie Marcus Denmon. The contract is for one season. Denmon (1.91 meters, 22 years old) will make his professional debut this season with the French champions after a standout college basketball career at the University of Missouri. The shooting guard produced 17.7 points on 40.7% three-point shooting plus 5 rebounds for the Tigers as he led the team to the Big XII Conference Tournament title. He finished the season among the conference leaders in scoring, three-pointers made (99) and steals (54). Denmon was rewarded as an All-Big 12 First Team selection for the second consecutive season and was voted Second Team All-American. He finished his four years at Mizzou ranked fifth on the school’s all-time scoring charts with 1,775 points and second on three-pointers made with 283. Chalon also announced that Malcolm Delaney, the team’s No. 2 scorer last season, will not return.
"I am very happy to come to Chalon," Denmon said. "This is a great opportunity for me to move from my college to the highest European level and to play in the Euroleague… I'm convinced I made the right choice."
