Nachbar had previously played for Efes Pilsen, where he averaged 8.3 points and 2.8 rebounds in 15 Turkish Airlines Euroleague games in 2010-11. Before that, Nachbar had a terrific 2008-09 Eurocup season with Dynamo Moscow. He averaged 16.1 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 13 games, finishing fourth in the competition in scoring and third in free-throw shooting at on 91.2%. Nachbar was also a 2008-09 All-Eurocup First Team selection after leading Dynamo to make it to the Final Eight. Nachbar joined Dynamo from New Jersey of the NBA, where he averaged 9.8 points and 3.5 rebounds in 75 games in the 2007-08 season. He spent six seasons overall in the NBA, playing a combined 317 regular season and 18 playoff games with Houston, New Orleans and New Jersey. Nachbar began his career with Maribor Ovni and also played for Pivovarna Lasko and Union Olimpija in his native Slovenia and later for Benetton Treviso in Italy. Before his two years with Efes, he took part in the Euroleague with Olimpija, Lasko and Benetton, with whom to reached the 2002 Final Four in Bologna. Nachbar has been a regular contributor to his national team, playing at EuroBasket 2003, 2005 and 2009 as well as the 2006 and 2010 world championships. "Boki is a player who has a lot of experience. He has been playing at the highest level and will be a solid scoring option at the '3' and '4' positions," Brose head coach Chris Fleming said. "It fits into our team really well and will help us a lot on offense."
