ZALGIRIS KAUNAS brings back coach Zouros

Ilias ZourosA familiar face is back to a Turkish Airlines Euroleague powerhouse when the announcement Tuesday that Zalgiris Kaunas inked head coach Ilias Zouros to a two-year deal. Zouros, age 47, returns to the Euroleague after finishing the 2011-12 season with Anadolu Efes Istanbul. He helped Efes to make it to the Turkish League finals. Zouros coaches Zalgiris in the 2010-11 season, leading it to win all three domestic titles available - Lithuanian League, Lithuanian Cup and Baltic League. He was fired early in the 2011-12 season was replaced by Aleksandar Trifunovic. Zouros, a former Eurocup Coach of the Year with Panellinios of Greece, has also coached Olympiacos, Peristeri and Aris in his home country. He also coached Sagesse Beirut to the Lebanese League title and the Asian Club Championship and spent a season-plus with Paris Racing Basket of France, as well as reaching the 2010 Eurocup Finals with Panellinios.
