Brent PetwayTwo-time defending Turkish Airlines Euroleague champion Olympiacos Piraeus added athleticism and power to its frontcourt by inking power forward Brent Petway to a two-year deal on Thursday. Petway (2.04 meters, 28 years old) arrives from A.G.O. Rethymno Aegean, where he averaged 12.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.1 steals and a competition-best 2.5 blocks in 34 Greek League games last season. A big man with impressive jumping skills, Petway has also played for JA Vichy Val d'Allier Auvergne Basket in France, Ilysiakos Athens in Greece, Idaho in the NBA Development League and the Harlem Globetrotters since finishing his college career at the University of Michigan. He helped Michigan to win the NIT Tournament in 2004, lifted the NBA Development League trophy with Idaho in 2008 and reached the Greek League semifinals with Rethymno last season.

"I am super excited about this opportunity. It is a big step for me," Petway said in a statement released by the club. "I will have the chance to play at the Euroleague level - with the competition's champions. It couldn't get any better for me. Pressure makes me play better. It will be good for me to work at a higher level. I know I can do that and will show everyone."
