FENERBAHCE ULKER signs Bjelica at forward

Nemanja Bjelica - Caja Laboral - EB12Fenerbahce Ulker signed Nemanja Bjelica to a multi-year deal on Friday. Bjelica (2.09 meters, 25 years old) was a key piece of Caja Laboral Vitoria’s run to the Turkish Airlines Euroleague playoffs last season with 9.9 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. His best game came in the regular season finale with 22 points on near-perfect shooting, which helped him earn bwin MVP honors for Week 10. He averaged 10 points and 5.9 rebounds in the Spanish League.

Bjelica was a product of the Partizan Belgrade youth system and made his professional debut with for Arkadia Traiskirchen Lions in Austria as a teenager. He later played two seasons for Crvena Zvezda Belgrade between 2008 and 2010, after which he joined Vitoria. Bjelica is also a regular member of the Serbian national team. He helped Serbia to win the gold medal at EuroBasket 2009 and reach the semifinals at the 2010 FIBA World Championships.
