Novica Velickovic - Real MadridFormer Euroleague Rising Star Award winner Novica Velickovic will resume his Euroleague career in Germany after signing with Brose Baskets Bamberg for the coming season. Velickovic (2.05 meters, 26 years old) arrives from KK Mega Vizura in his native Serbia, where he resumed playing last season after injuries derailed what had been a promising career. He averaged 15 points and 5 rebounds in 12 Serbian League games last season.

Born in Belgrade and coming up in the Partizan youth system, Velickovic had played in the club's first squad from the time he was 18. He helped Partizan win two Serbia and Montenegro League titles, in 2005 and 2006, as well as to lift three consecutive Adriatic League and Serbian League trophies from 2007 to 2009. Velickovic also won back-to-back Serbian Radivoj Korac Cup titles in 2008 and 2009. He was chosen as the 2008-09 Euroleague Rising Star after claiming February MVP honors and averaging 11.5 points and 5.1 rebounds in 19 Euroleague games that season. He then joined Real Madrid, where Velickovic played the next three seasons and reached the 2011 Final Four. Velickovic has also been a regular member of the Serbian national team, which he helped to win the silver medal at EuroBasket 2009 and reach the 2010 FIBA World Championships semifinals.
