Julius Jenkins - Alba Berlin Alba Berlin survived a double-overtime thriller to down Eisbaren Bremerhaven 106-105 in double overtime on Sunday and improve to 21-5 in the standings. Chris Owens led the winners with 32 points and 13 rebounds. Julius Jenkins added 29 points on 12-of-12 free throws, Ruben Boumtje-Boumtje had 12 and Nenad Canak 11. Owens allowed Alba to get a 21-21 tie after 10 minutes, and he got some help from Canak and Jenkins to make the hosts get a 44-33 halftime edge. Bremenhaven rallied to get a 58-59 edge after 30 minutes. The game went down to the wire, as free throws by Zygimantas Jonusas tid it at 75-75 with 18 seconds to go. Jenkins hit foul shots and even when Nick Jacobson buried a triple for a 77-78 edge with 4 seconds remaining, Johaness Herber hit 1 of 2 free throw to force overtime, 78-78. Jenkins stepped up to make Alba stay alive 90-90, and then hit 4 free throws in the final 18 seconds to put the victory on ice. Brose Baskets needed a defensive exhibition to down RheinEnergie 50-33 in Bamberg on Sunday. Both teams now tie for the third place at 18-8. Darren Fenn led the winners with 14 points while Zelly Wesson grabbed 11 rebounds for Brose Baskets. Demond Mallet had 8 points for RheinEnergie, that went 1-of-24 from downtown. Brose Baskets led 26-23 at halftime and only allowed 6 points in the next 16 minutes, getting a 43-28 margin and cruising to a well-deserved win. In other games, Walter Tigers Tubingen thrashed BG Karlsruhe 69-93, the Giessen 46ers bested the Artlans Dragons 73-66, Telekom Baskets Bonn edged the Deutsche Bank Skyliners 83-78, Paderborn Baskets downed Nurnberg 66-100, Bayer Giants Leverkusen beat TBB Trier 124-111 in triple overtime while EnBW Ludwigsburg topped EWE Baskets Oldenburg 101-92 behind 22 points from Je'Kel Foster. Braunschweig hosts Ulm on Wednesday.
