British League, Week 28: March 20-25, 2007
Poujoulat Heat Guildford kept its place atop the British Championship at 26-6 despite registering a 93-90 road loss against the Newcastle Eagles on Friday. Tony Dorsey led the Eagles with 20 points while Brian Dux had 35 for the Heat. Jeremy Hyatt became the game hero by hitting 5 free throws in the final minute to win it for the Eagles. The Heat bounced back with a 80-102 road win over the Marshall MK Lions on Sunday. Mike Martin led the winners with 26 points. The Sheffield Sharks stay second at 25-7 by thrashing the Leicester Riders 100-68 at home on Thursday behind 23 points from the ever-present Jeff Bonds. It was a productive week for the Scottish Rocks, that registered back-to-back road wins. The Rocks edged the Plymouth Raiders 74-78 on Friday behind 20 points from Rob Yanders and then added a 59-90 road win against the Worcester Wolves. Julius Joseph paced the Rocks with 27 points. The Rocks had registered a 90-102 road loss against the Raiders on Tuesday. In other games on Saturday, the Raiders thrashed London United 72-104 while the Riders topped the Eagles 86-84 behind 25 points from Andrew Alleyne. On Sunday, the Chester Jets beat London United 110-98.
