French League, Game 26: March 27-28, 2007
Sluc Nancy stayed atop the French League standings with a 19-7 record by thrashing Orleans 69-98 on the road on Wednesday. Dan McClintock led the winners with 19 points. Maxime Zianveni added 15, Branko Milisavljevic had 13, Tariq Kirksay 11 while Cedrick Banks and Aurelien Salmon each scored 10 points in an easy win for Nancy, that bounced back from its French Cup elimination in style. Roanne and Cholet keep tying for second place at 18-8. Chalon overwhelmed Bourg 68-89 behind 20 points from John Best. Meanwhile, Roanne survived a tough battle by edging Pau-Orthez 92-91 at home on a game-winning layup by Marc Salyers, that led the hosts with 30 points and 13 rebounds. Michael Wright had 25 points for Pau, Ricardo Greer added 19, C.C. Harrison 18 and Aaron Miles 15. Roanne led 87-81 with 3 minutes to go and even when Greer and Wright helped Pau to get a 90-91 edge, Salyers won the game for the hosts. Strasbourg is fourth at 17-9 by downing Clermont 89-74. Michael Smith led Strasbourg with 22 points, Chuck Eidson added 21 and John McCord 10. A final 13-3 run sealed the win down the stretch. Le Mans improved to 15-11 by downing Paris 82-60 in the only game on Thursday. Kenny Gregory led the winners with 23 points whule Eric Campbell and Nicolas Batum each had 13 in an easy win for Le Mans. In other games, Reims beat Cholet 73-58, Hyeres-Toulon topped Besancon 92-83, Le Havre upset Gravelines 76-87 while Adecco Asvel bested Dijon 80-73.
