Polish League, Game 24: March 28-29, 2007
Prokom Trefl Sopot edged Energa Czarni on the road 67-70 Thursday to close in on the regular season crown in the Polish League. Prokom improved to 20-4 with two games remaining and will clinch first with a win or a defeat for second place BOT Turow in any of the remaining games this season. Jasmin Hukic led Prokom with 15 points and 8 rebounds and Christian Dalmau and Huseyin Besok added 12 apiece for the Polish champs. Czarni, which missed a chance to force overtime when Evaldas Jocys missed a three, got 18 points and 9 boards from center Alex Dunn. On Wednesday, Turow topped Sokolow Znicz 92-83 as Andres Rodriguez led five scorers in double figures with 19 points. Anwil Wloclawek torched last-place Unia Tarnow 91-55 as Goran Jagodnik posted 24. Zendon Hamilton scored 21to lead ASCO Slask past Kotwica Kolobrzeg 84-68. In other games, Patrick Okafor had 27 points and 9 rebounds and David Logan 21 points and 10 boards for Polpharma in a 71-62 win over Polpak Swiecie, Kager Gdynia outlasted Gipsar Stal Ostrow 90-78 thanks to Michael Kuebler's 22 and AZS Koszalin edged Polonia Warsaw through Chris Hunter's 24.
