Dutch-League leaders EiffelTowers Den Bosch stumbled to their second straight defeat on Sunday, going down 100-77 to Hanzevast Capitals Groningen in surprising fashion. Darnell Hinson drilled 35 points and Gary Buchanan added 23 to launch the second-placed Capitals, who improved to 24-12, but still trail Den Bosch by 10 victories. The hosts used a 35-11 first quarter to grab control of the game and then contained the attempts of the defending champs to get back. Groningen led 56-35 at halftime and managed the scoreboard until the end. Landstede Zwolle downed Woon! Aris 90-79 behind 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists from John Williams; Rotterdam downed Polynorm Giants 65-61 as Patrick Pope and Anthony Dill bagged 16 points apiece; while Zorg en Zekerheid topped Astronauts Amsterdam 83-78 with Shelton Colwell tallying 20 points and 15 boards. In the only road win of the round, Upstairs Weert edged Matrixx Magixx 88-92.
