Ovarense Aerosoles stays unstoppable with just one week to go in the Portuguese League regular season. Ovarense improved to 27-4 by downing Lusitania Angra PM 81-70 in Ovar on Wednesday. Gregory Stempin and Ben Reed led the winners each with 16 points while Elvis Evora added 11 for Ovarense, that led 45-30 at halftime and kept a safe margin all the way. Benfica stays second at 21-10 despite a 70-63 road loss against Barreirense. Joao Gomes led the way for Barreirense with 26 points while Cody Toppert had 15 for the winners. Miguel Minhava had 21 points for Benfica while Tyson Wheeler added 15. Toppert had 9 points in the final 2 minutes to make Barreirense add its final regular season win. In other games, Porto Ferpinta edged Belenenses Hyundai Lusifor 66-72 behind 22 points from Nuno Marcal while Casino Figueira Ginasio bested CAB Madeira 88-82 in double overtime. Ricky Woods led Ginasio with 28 points and 11 rebounds while Filipe da Silva barely missed a triple-double for Benfica, as he had 17 points, 13 rebounds and 9 assists.
