German League, Game 30: April 12-13, 2007
Casey Jacobsen Alba Berlin did not find much trouble to stay atop the German League standings with a 25-5 record by downing Walter Rigers Tubingen 71-60 at home on Friday. Chris Owens led the winners with 23 points while Julius Jenkins added 12 for Alba, that led 38-30 at halftime. Even when Tubingen got within 46-41, Owens and Jenkins took care of business and allowed Alba to cruise to a big home win. Brose Baskets improved to 21-9 and stayed third by edging EnBW Ludwigsburg 53-57 on the road also on Friday. As usual, Casey Jacobsen paced the winners with 22 points while Darren Fenn added 10 for Brose Baskets, that led 25-30 at the half. The game went down to the wire, but Jacobsen sealed the outcome from the free throw line in the final seconds. RheinEnergie dropped to 20-10 due to a 85-74 road loss against Bayer Giants Leverkusen. Derrick Allen led the winners with 21 points. Aleksandar Nadjfeji had 16 points for RheinEnergie, Devin Green 14, Immanuel McElroy 13 and Demond Mallet 12. In other games, Eisbaren Bremenhaven downed the Deutsche Bank Skyliners 75-63, Braunschweig edged Nurnberg 85-84, EWE Baskets Oldenburg thrashed BG Karlsruhe 88-104, Paderborn Baskets topped Telekom Baskets Bonn 69-78, Artland Dragons bested TBB Trier 92-74 while Giessen 46ers defeated ratiopharm Ulm 75-69.
