German League, Game 31: April 14-17, 2007
Casey Jacobsen EnBW Ludwigsburg showed its power and improved to 23-8 in the German League standings by thrashing Alba Berlin 84-62 at home on Sunday. Michel Ferreira led the winners with 16 points while Pavelas Cukinas added 15 for Ludwigsburg. Sharrod Ford had 22 points for Alba, that stays first with a 25-6 record. It was a balanced game for three quarters, but a 31-14 partial in the final period allowed the hosts to cruise to an important home win with just 5 games to go in the regular season. Brose Baskets improved to 22-9 by beating Braunschweig 79-64 in Bamberg also on Sunday. Casey Jacobsen led the winners with 19 points. Chris Ensminger added 15, Darren Fenn had 12 while Zelly Wesson and Steffen Hamann each bagged 11 for Brose Baskets, 65-55 after 30 minutes and limited its opponents to just nine fourth-quarter points to seal the win. RheinEnergie improved to 21-10 by thrashing BG Karlsruhe 96-69 in Cologne. Ronnie Burrell led the way for RheinEnergie with 14 points. Aleksandar Nadjfeji and Marcin Gortat each added 12 while Devin Green and Johannes Strasser had 10 apiece for the winners. In other games, Telekom Baskets Bonn edged Nurnberg 76-80 in triple overtime, Artland Dragons beat Deutsche Bank Skyliners 69-77, Bayer Giants Leverkusen bested Paderborn Baskets 72-85, Eisbaren Bremerhaven topped ratiopharm Ulm 72-85 while Tubingen downed TBB Trier 77-78.
