Nikos Hatzivrettas - Panathinaikos Defending champion Panathinaikos needed a Nikos Hatzivrettas buzzer-beating three-pointer to beat Panionios 86-89 in overtime at Hellinikon Arena to keep its two-win lead over Olympiacos in the Greek League. Meanwhile the Reds bounced back after their elimination from the Euroleague and topped AEK on the road 80-97. The Thessaloniki derby between Aris and PAOK was postponed until Tuesday due to the Minister of Sports' decision because the Yellows didn’t respect the new rule established for ticket distribution. In a dramatic game in Larissa, Arthur Lee's jumper with 8 second left in the second overtime lifted AEL over Olympia 91-92. Lee scored 30 points and Mat Walsh 33 for the winners. Panellinios edged Makedonikos on the road 86-87 behind Pantelis Papaioakeim's 17 points and 9 boards. Maroussi downed Apollon Patras 93-91 to keep its hopes of clinching a playoff berth alive. Olypiada secured another season in the top league by beating Egaleo 85-77 as Guillero Diaz scored 20 points.

Panionios led 71-68 late in the game, but Milos Vujanic hit a three-point shot to tie the game and |Hatzivrettas put Panathinaikos up 2. Nikos Hatzis made two from the line to knot the score at 73-73 and force overtime. The Greens led 81-86 with a minute left on the extra period, but 12 seconds to the end, Kennedy Winston hit a three to tie the game at 86-86. Vujanic missed a three pointer and Hatzivrettas grabbed the board and sank his at the buzzer for the 86-89 win. Ramunas Siskausas finished with 25 points on fine shooting, Vujanic added 18 and Demos Dikoudis 14 points for Panathinaikos, which didn’t have the injured Fragiskos Alvertis or Kostas Tsartsaris. Winston led Panionios with 22 points and 8 rebounds, Stratos Perperoglou and newcomer Ender Arslan scored 15 points apiece and Andre Hutson added 12 points.

At OAKA, AEK resisted for 30 minutes, but Olympiacos had more alternatives and quality which allowed them to win, 80-97. Arvydas Macijauskas made his premiere in the Greek League by scoring 6 points and dishing 3 assists in 13 minutes. Henry Domercant led all scorers with 21 points. Andrija Zizic bagged 20 points, Giannis Bouroussis had 14, Nikos Barlos 11 and Vrbica Stefanov 10 and 5 assists. Sofoklis Schortsanitis didn’t play due to an illness. For AEK, Nestoras Kommatos scored 19 points, Giannis Gagaloudis 18, Christos Tapoutos 16 and Prodromos Nikolaidis 14.
