Polish League, Quarterfinals, Game 4: April 16, 2007
Prokom Trefl Sopot will face Anwil Włocławek in the Polish league semifinals after both teams won their best-of-five quarterfinal series 3-1 on Monday night. After a double-overtime loss on Sunday in Game 3 to Polpharma Starogard, Prokom bounced back and proved that is the better team with an easy 64-93 road win. The visitors built an early double-digit lead and never looked back as Donatas Slanina led five Prokom scorers in double figures with 23 points. Tomas Pacesas and Adam Wojcik both added 14, while Tomas Masiulis and Huseyin Besok finished with 10 each. Greg Harrington had 16 for Polpharma, which lost to Prokom in the first round of Polish playoffs for the third time in a row. Anwil was tested by Energa Czarni, but again was more efficient down the stretch for an 82-85 win – Anwil's third straight after dropping the series opener. Anwil held an 11-point margin in the final period, but Przemyslaw Frasunkiewicz hit three triples in the final three minutes to keep Czarni’s hopes alive. Chris Thomas scored Anwil’s final 4 points and the guests celebrated the victory. Otis Hill led the winners with 23 points and 10 rebounds, while Thomas added 20 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Frasunkiewicz with 18 points led five Czarni scorers in double figures. The semifinals start this weekend, with Prokom holding the home-court advantage in the best-of-seven series.
