Slovenian League second phase, Game 8: April 21, 2007
Manuchar Markoishvili - Union Olimpija Union Olimpija and Helios Domzale keep tying atop the Slovenian League standings, each with a 7-1 record. Olimpija did not find much trouble to down TCG Loka Kava 62-83 in Skofja Loka on Saturday. Manu Markoishvili led the winners with 15 points on 6-of-6 two-pointers. Sandi Cebular added 14, Domen Lorbek and Miha Zupan each had 13 while Tyrell Lee got 11 in easy road win for Olimpija, that led 13-30 after 10 minutes and kept a safe margin all the way until the final buzzer. Meanwhile, Helios showed its power by thrashing Elektra Esotech 80-49 at home. Dario Krejic led Helios with 19 points, Robert Troha added 17 and Smiljan Pavic 16. Elektra was limited to just 2 points in the first quarter, as Helios got a 38-17 halftime margin and cruised to a well-deserved win. Geoplin Slovan is now third at 5-3 by topping Alpos Sentjur 72-91 on the road also on Saturday. Davor Marcelic paced the winners with 20 points while Jaka Klobucar added 17. Finally, Krka edged Zlatorog 82-81 in Novo Mesto behind 23 points from Vladimir Mihailovic.
