German League, Game 32: April 21-22, 2007
Alba Berlin became the German League regular season winner and will have the home court advantage in each playoff round it takes part in. Alba improved to 26-6 and is three games ahead everyone else with just 2 to go in the regular season by thrashing the Deutsche Bank Skyliners 92-75 in Berlin on Sunday. Ruben Boumtje-Boumtje led the winners with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Julius Jenkins added 16, Chris Owens and Will Avery each had 14 while Philip Zwiener got 12 for Alba, that led 68-53 after 30 minutes and cruised to a well-deserved win. Brose Baskets keep tying for the second place at 23-9 by downing BG Karlsruhe 76-97 on the road on Saturday. Casey Jacobsen paced the winners with 28 points while Tim Begley and Steffen Hamann each added 16 in an easy road win for Brose Baskets, that led 10-27 after 10 minutes and managed to keep a safe margin since that moment. RheinEnergie dropped to 21-11 due to a 73-66 road loss against the Artland Dragons. Adam Hess paced the winners with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Demond Mallet had 15 points for RheinEnergie, Aleksandar Nadjfeji added 13 and Guido Grunheid 10. In other games, Telekom Baskets Bonn edged Braunschweig 66-65, ratiopharm Ulm beat TBB Trier 90-100, Tubingen bested EWE Baskets Oldenburg 98-89, the Giessen 46ers thrashed Nurnberg 78-55, Bremerhaven downed Paderborn Baskets 86-80 while Bayer Giants Leverkusen topped EnBW Ludwigsburg 95-87.
