Will Bynum - Maccabi Elite In the Israeli League clash of the titans, Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv drubbed Hapoel Migdal Jerusalem 119-86 to take a two-game lead atop the standings. Maccabi, which also has the potential tiebreaker after beating Hapoel in two of their three meetings this season, improved to 18-2. Maccabi enjoyed a huge night by Will Bynum and a great scoring game by Simas Jasaitis and Sharon Shason who combined to shoot 11-for13 from long range. Meanwhile, road wins were the theme of the day in the other key games. Third place Bnei Hasharon picked up another key win 82-94, at Rishon Lezion. Lee Nailon led Bnei Hasharon with 23 points and Jason Williams added 19 points and 13 rebounds. Bryant Markson led five Rishon scorers in double-digits with 13. Maccabi came out hot and didn't give Hapoel time to adjust, taking a 15-8 lead after just 5 minutes. Bynum's three-point play gave Maccabi its first double-digit of the night 20-10, before Horace Jenkins set the quarter score on 28-16. Jenkins added another bucket to make it a 9-point game, but that was the last time Hapoel was within a single-digit margin. Yotam Halperin and Jasaitis hit from long range, Bynum slashed to the rim time after time and Shason finalized the show with a three-pointer to close the first half at 57-36. Tal Burstein joined the party and together with Bynum, Halperin and Shason turned the game into a nightmare for Hapoel. Shason made back-to-back triplets and Bynum threw down a windmill dunk to the delight of the yellow fans as Maccabi climbed to 100-68 on the way to a 33 point win. Bynum finished with 24 points in 10-of-13 from the field in addition to 6 assists, 5 rebounds and 1 block.
