Dutch League Playoffs, Semifinals Games 2: April 26, 2007
There is drama in the Dutch League semifinals as the home teams both won Game 2 of their respective series to set up a deciding third game on Saturday. On Thursday night Upstairs Weert and Demon Astronauts of Amsterdam defeated EiffelTowers Den Bosch and Matrixx Magixx Nijmegen, respectively. Weert topped EiffelTowers 88-84 in come-from-behind style after trailing 33-44 at halftime. The hosts outscored EiffelTowers by 10 in the fourth quarter to take the win. Taron Downey led the way with 27 points, while Ashley Champion had 19 and James Mathis 13. Leon Rodgers amassed 24 points and 10 rebounds, Travis Young and Eric Nelson had 14 each and Kees Akerboom 10 for the guests. Astronauts thrashed Matrixx Nijmegen 83-54, holding them to 18 points bridging the second and third quarters. Tamien Trent tallied 17 points, 4 assists and 4 steals for Amsterdam and Chris Carrawell 13 points for Nijmegen.
