Swiss League Playoffs, Semifinals Game 1: April 28, 2007
Olympic Fribourg and Lugano Tigers won the opening games of their respective best-of-five Swiss League semifinals series at home. Fribourg topped Boncourt 82-68 and Lugano beat Geneva Devils 79-62. Olympic took a 29-16 lead in the first quarter with an amazing shooting performance (12-of-16), but the visitors came back and tied the score at 57-57 early in the last quarter. That's when Dave Esterkamp scored 7 straight points to give Fribourg a 72-61 cushion. Esterkamp finished with 21 points and Lorenzo Orr 19 for Fribourg, while Hugues Jannel led Boncourt with 17. In the other game, the Tigers led 35-27 at halftime and produced their biggest effort in the third quarter for a 59-44 advantage after 30 minutes. Nikola Dacevic contributed 16 points and Edwin Draughan 15, while Robert Johnson led the guests with 18.
