Kevin Houston - Dexia Mons Spirou Charleroi clinched the top spot in the Belgian League regular season and improved to 24-10 by thrashing Basket Gr Leuven 58-77 on the road on Saturday. Charleroi has a three-game avdantage over everyone else with just two games to go in the regular season. Corey Brewer led the winners with 15 points while Andre Riddick added 14 on 7-of-7 two-pointers in an easy road win for Charleroi, that led 25-36 at halftime and boosted its margin to 39-62 after three quarters to seal the outcome. Telindus Oostende, Euphony Bree and Sanex Antwerp tie for the second spot at 21-13. Bree beat Liege Basket 85-93 on the road also on Saturday behind 27 points from Kelvin Tolbert. Meanwhile, Oostende edged Okapi Aalstar 86-89 on the road. Veselin Petrovic paced the winners with 22 points, Elvir Ovcina added 17, Glen McGowan had 13 and Titus Ivory 10 for Oostende, that trailed 82-81 with 3 minutes to go. A 1-8 run that Ivory capped with free throws allowed Oostende to seal the win. Antwerp bested Verviers-Pepinster 74-69 with 21 points from Len Matela. Finally, Dexia Mons-Hainaut improved to 19-15 by edging Atomia Brussels 70-76. Kevin Houston posted a double-double of 20 points and 15 rebounds. Miguel Berdiel had 20 points, George Evans added 14 and Jim Potter 10.
