French League, Game 32: April 28-29, 2007
Sluc Nancy keeps a two-game advantage over everyone else and improved to 24-8 in the French League standings by beating Le Mans 82-76 at home on Friday. Branko Milisavljevic paced the winners with 20 points. Cedrick Banks added 14, Cyril Julian and Victor Samnick each had 11 while Dan McClintock and Maxime Zianveni got 10 apiece for Nancy. Yannick Bokolo had 17 points for Le Mans, Sandro Nicevic added 15, Nicolas Batum 11 and Eric Campbell 10. Banks and Milisavljevic led Nancy to a 28-11 lead after 10 minutes and the hosts boosted it to 41-17 midway through the second quarter. Le Mans did not give up, however, as back-to-back triples by Batum got the guests within 75-71. Julian and Zianveni scored inside while Banks sealed the win from the free throw line. Strasbourg improved to 21-11 by thrashing Orleans 62-83 on the road on Saturday. Aerick Sanders led the winners with 23 points, Sacha Giffa added 17 and Afik Nissim 13 in an easy road win for Strasbourg, that led 33-51 at halftime and never looked back. Pau-Orthez dropped to 17-15 due to a 75-77 overtime home loss against Cholet. Steed Tchicamboud led the winners with 19 points. Michael Wright had 17 points for Pau, C.C. Harrison added 16, Aaron Miles and Ricardo Greer 13 each while Cedric Ferchaud got 10 for the hosts. Pau trailed 64-69 with a minute to go in regulation, but Greer and Harrison combined for 5 free throws to force overtime, 69-69. Free throws by Anthony Dobbins allowed Cholet to escape with a road win. In other games, Bourg bested Reims 76-88, Adecco Asvel thrashed Gravelines 100-72, Paris edged Chalon 72-66, Clermont toppd Hyeres-Toulon 67-81, Roanne beat Le Havre 96-86 while Dijon defeated Besancon 90-98 in overtime.
