Polish League Playoffs, Semifinals, Game 3: April 27-28, 2007
Anwil Wloclawek cut into defending champion Prokom Trefl Sopot's lead in the best-of-seven Polish League playoff semifinals, while Turow Zgorzelec beat Asco Slask Wroclaw on the road 53-61 to take a 2-1 lead in that series. Anwil beat Prokom 87-67 in Game 3, the third straight game that the home team has won in the series.Anwil won easily despite performing without backup center Seid Hajric, with Otis Hill playing only 9 minutes and Andrzej Pluta playing injured. Anwil led by 10 after first quarter, by 20 at halftime and never looked back. Chris Thomas lead winners with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists, while Goran Jagodnik added 15 points. Tomas Pacesas scored 13 for Prokom, Michael Andersen added 12 and Huseyin Besok 10 for Prokom. Turow and Wroclaw played an even game for 40 minutes on Friday. With less than 2 minutes to play, Andres Rodriguez hit two free throws and gave the visitors the lead for good. He followed with a triple with 30 seconds remaining and Slask couldn’t come back. Rodriguez finished with a game-high 14 points, Thomas Kelati added 11 points and 6 rebounds, while Slobodan Ljubotina had 8 and 10 respectively. Dean Oliver lead Slask with 12, while Radoslaw Hyzy scored all of his 10 points in the first half.
