German League, Game 33: May 4-6, 2007
Ruben Boumtje-Boumtje - Alba Berlin Alba Berlin keeps leading the German League standings and is the regular season champion with a game to go. Alba improved to 27-6 by edging TBB Trier 87-82 in Berlin on Saturday. Ruben Boumtje-Boumtje led the winners with 20 points, Sharrod Ford and Julius Jenkins each had 13 points, Demond Greene, back from his terrible leg injury, added 12 and William Avery 11 for Alba. Brose Baskets dropped to 23-10 and is now third in the standings due to a 71-69 road loss against Telekom Baskets Bonn. Jason Gardner led the winners with 20 points. Casey Jacobsen and Darren Fenn each had 17 points for Brose Baskets. RheinEnergie had less troubles than expected to thrash the Giessen 46ers 67-95 on the road on Saturday. Mlajden Sljivancanin led the winners with 20 points. Devin Green added 18, Demond Mallet had 13, Immanuel McElroy 12 and Marcin Gortat 10 in an easy road win for RheinEnergie, that ties for the fourth place at 22-11. In other games, Bayer Giants Leverkusen thrashed Nurnberg 96-65, Paderborn Baskets bested BG Karlsruhe 64-79, Artland Dragons beat Ratiopharm Ulm 99-81, EnBW Ludwigsburg overwhelmed Braunschweig 52-88, the Deutsche Bank Skyliners edged Tubingen 62-65 while Eisbaren Bremenhaven defeated EWE Baskets Oldenburg 91-75.
