Serbian League, Phase 2, Game 6: May 5-6, 2007
Nikola Pekovic Partizan Partizan took the big showdown in the Serbian League this weekend by edging Hemofarm 89-88 in Pionir Arena on Saturday. Both teams now join a three-way tie atop the standings along with FMP, all with a 4-1 record. Dusan Kecman led the winners with 19 points. Vonteego Cummings added 17, Novica Velickovic had 11 while Uros Tripkovic, Predrag Drobnjak and Nikola Pekovic got 10 apiece for Partizan. Nebojsa Joksimovic had 15 points for Hemofarm, Vladan Vukosavljevic added 14, Milenko Tepic 12, Aleksej Nesovic 11 and Predrag Suput 10. It all came down to the final seconds, as Nesovic buried a triple for a 87-88 Hemofarm edge with 5 seconds to go. Pekovic became the game hero with the game-winning basket for Partizan at the buzzer. FMP also improved to 5-1 by thrashing Sloga 75-96 on the road. Zoran Erceg led the winners with 22 points, Milos Teodosic added 16 while Branko Cvetkovic had 15 in an easy road win for FMP. Crvena Zvezda improved to 3-3 by topping Vojvodina 78-87 behind 28 points from Milan Gurovic. Tadija Dragicevic added 20, Pero Antic had 12 and Igor Milosevic 10. Last but not least, Mega Ishrana downed Masinac 82-65 to get his second straight win.
