Turkish League Quarterfinals, Game 3: May 7-9, 2007
Drew Nicholas - Efes Pilsen Efes Pilsen and Galatasaray Cafe Crown took the shortest possible route to the Turkish League semifinals by sweeping their quarterfinals series. Efes Pilsen finished off Banvit 84-91 on the road, while Galatasaray ousted Besiktas 81-89 on Tuesday. Jeff Graves posted 22 points on 10-of-13 shooting and Darrel Mitchel added 16 points and 8 assists to lead Galatasaray to the semis. In the other series, regular-season champ Fenerbahce Ulker recovered from a shock home loss to Darussafaka by winning Game 3 71-75 on the road for a 2-1 series lead. CASA TED Kolejliler avoided a sweep by taking its first game from Turk Telekom 83-75 thanks to Richard Shields and Alex Jensen, who combined for 42 points and playmaker Marques Green, who posted 15 points and 11 assists. Derrick Alston led Telekom with 18.

Drew Nicholas scored 26 points and dished 8 assists to lead Efes Pilsen over Banvit and into the semifinals. Efes outscored the hosts in each of the first thre quarters, but Banvit hung around and was within 64-69 early in the fourth. Despite Kerem Gonlum and Nicholas's best effort, Arthur Long brough Banvit within 74-76. However Gonlum was joined by Cunyet Erden for a 2-11 blitz that ended Banvit's hopes and its season. Antonio Granger accounted for 19 points for Efes, Marcus Haislip had 12 points and 8 rebounds and Ermal Kuqo finished with 10. Marque Perry led Banvit with 24, Bekir Yarangume added 20 and Long finished with 16 points and 9 rebounds.

Fener bounced back from its Game 2 loss, but it wasn't easy against Darussafaka. After a close first half ended with the hosts ahead 32-30, Fener made its move with a 12-27 third quarter that looked to be enough to guarantee the win. But with the visitors up 51-69 early in the fourth, Erdem Turetken, Polat Kocaoglu and Soner Senturk all played big roles in a 17-3 Darussafaka march that brought the hosts back. Sinan Guler and late Henry Dobie each made it a 2-point game in the final minute, but Will Solomon was there to secure the win for Fener. Solomon finished with 27 points and 5 assists, Ibrihim Kutluay added 15 and Mirsad Turkcan and Ira Joe Clark had 11 each for Fenerbahce. Turetken and Kocaoglu scored 18 and 17 points, respectively, for Darussafaka.
