Drew Nicholas - Efes Pilsen Efes Pilsen took a 2-1 lead in the best-of-five Turkish League semifinals by edging Turk Telekom 71-74 in Game 3 in Ankara on Saturday. Efes is just one win away from facing Fenerbahce Ulker in the finals, but Turk telekom hosts Game 4 on Monday. Drew Nicholas led the winners with 22 points while Kerem Gonlun had 12 for Efes. Muratcan Guler had 20 points for Turk Telekom while veteran Haluk Yildirim added 14. Turk Telekom rolled in the opening quarter, using a 10-0 run to get a 14-point margin 19-5, early in the game. Nicholas and Ermal Kuqo allowed Efes to get within 21-12 after 10 minutes. Efes found a go-to guy in Antonio Granger, who brought his team back into the game, 29-27. Even with that, Turk Telekom still kept a 40-36 halftime edge. Efes managed to get ahead, 47-48, on a triple by Nicholas that ignited a 0-11 run to give the guests a 47-56 margin. Turk Telekom did not surrender and got within 64-65 with 3 minutes to go. Gonlum, Mustafa Abi and Nicholas kept Efes ahead down the stretch while Granger made a free throw with 3.9 seconds remaining to fix the final score.
