French League playoffs, Semifinals, Game 2: May 24, 2007
Cyril Julian - Sluc Nancy French-League regular season champion Sluc Nancy advanced to the final Thursday with an 87-75 win over Adecco Asvel Lyon-Villeurbanne. Nancy swept the best-of-three semifinals series 2-0 and now will await the winner of the other semifinal pitting Chalon/Saone against Roanne. Chalon won Thursday's Game 2 82-87 to set up a third-and-final game on Saturday afternoon. Nancy opened strong as Cedrick Banks and Maxime Zianveni scored 5 apiece during a 14-0 run for a 21-8 lead. The cushion reached 46-24 by halftime and Asvel never got closer than 12 the rest of the way. Cyril Julian led six Nancy scorers in double figures with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Banks added 18, Branko Milisavljevic 14, Zianveni 13 and Victor Samnick and Tariq Kirksay had 10 each. Chevon Troutman posted 19 points and 9 rebounds and Yohann Sangare added 13 for Asvel. Chalon edged Roanne in an exciting finish. Marcellus Sommerville drilled a triple and added a jumper to put Chalon in control at 74-81 down the stretch, but Aaron Harper from the line and Dewarick Spencer from downtown made it 82-83 with a minute to go. However Jermaine Guice and Sommerville made their key free throws and Spencer missed a chance to tie the game as Chalon tied the series. Terrell Everett finished with 31 points and 9 rebounds and John Best added 17 for Chalon. Spencer led Roanne with 21.
