Aris took an early seven-point margin, 20-13, but the visitors used a 0-9 run to get a 20-22 edge. Papamakarios hit back-to-back three-pointers and Olympiacos soared up to 24-30. The Reds managed to keep a 40-44 edge at halftime. Olympiacos opened to 40-46 early in the third quarter, but the hosts quickly improved their defense and took advantage of their up-tempo game in an 11-0 run that gave Aris a five-point game, 51-46. Aris widened the gap to 54-47, but Olympiacos found a go-to guy in Vasilopoulos, who led a 8-18 run that gave the Reds a 62-65 edge after 30 minutes. The game turned into a thriller when Aris used another 6-0 run to get its last lead, 72-71. Olympiacos, however, proved itself too hard to die.
