Gmunden won its third consecutive Austrian League title when it overwhelmed Macabido Gunners Oberwart 88-70 at home in Gmunden on Sunday. Deteri Mayes was again unstoppable for the winners, scoring 29 points. Blake Hamilton followed him with 13 points, while Ian Boylan added 12 and Peter Hutter 11. Gunners got 19 points from Armond Williams. Swans rolle dup 29 points in the first quarter, but Gunners was scoring, too, and the first half ended 49-47 in favor of the hosts. Swans put it all together after the break, using stronger defense to win the third quarter 25-13, taking a 74-60 lead into the fourth and stopping Gunners the rest of the way. Three different players - Hamilton, Mayes and Boylan - also had at least 4 assists each for Swans, who also shot a healthy 85% at the free throw line.
