German League Semifinals, Game 2: June 7, 2007
Darren Fenn - Brose Baskets Brose Baskets got closer to make it to the German League finals by downing EnBW Ludwigsburg 67-51 in Bamberg in Game 3 on Thursday. Brose Baskets leads the series 2-0 but Ludwigsburg hosts Game 3 this weekend. Darren Fenn led the winners with 17 points while Steffen Hamann added 16 for Brose Baskets, whose superstar Casey Jacobsen was limited to just 5 points. Michel Ferreira posted a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds for Ludwigsburg but nobody else scored in double digits. Ludwigsburg led 31-34 at halftime, but a 9-0 run that bridged between the final two quarters put Brose Baskets ahead for good, 55-45 and the guests did not recover. Meanwhile, the Artland Dragons bounced back from its initial loss in the best-of-five semifinals by beating RheinEnergie 85-75 at home also on Thursday. Bryan Bailey led the winners with 19 points, Darius Hall added 17, Filiberto Rivera had 14 and Lamont McIntosh 11 for the Dragons. Aleksandar Nadjfeji had 17 points for RheinEnergie, Devin Green added 15 while Demond Mallet and Marcin Gortat each got 14 for the guests. Both teams were tied at 59-59 after 30 minutes but Bailey and Hall stepped up in crunch time to seal the outcome minutes before the final buzzer. Series is tied at 1-1 but RheinEnergie hosts Game 3 this Sunday.
