Serbian League Semifinals, Game 2: June 10-12, 2007
Milan Gurovic - Crvena Zvezda Crvena Zvezda returned to the Serbian League finals by beating Hemofarm 91-81 in Belgrade in Game 2 on Tuesday. Zvezda won the best-of-three semifinal series 2-0 and will face archrivals Partizan in the best-of-five finals, in a rematch of last year's title series. Milan Gurovic led the winners with 37 points. Pero Antic added 13, all in the fourth quarter, while Steven Markovic had 10 for C. Zvezda, whose guard Igor Milosevic, broke his leg in Game 1 this weekend and is sidelined for the remainder of the season. Vladan Vukosavljevic had 16 points for Hemofarm, Predrag Suput added 13, Aleksej Nesovic 11 and Bojan Bakic 10 for the guests, in the last game of legenary power forward Milenko Topic.

Gurovic already had 20 points in the first half, as even when Nenad Misanovic hit a free throw for a 38-34 C. Zvezda edge, Vukosavljevic brought Hemofarm within 38-36 at the break. Vukosavljevic kept pacing Hemofarm after the break, while a layup bu Suput put the guests ahead, 58-59, after 30 minutes. C. Zvezda needed a go-to guy to help Gurovic and found one in Antic, who scored 13 points in the final period to keep the hosts ahead. A three-pointer by Gurovic sealed the outcome, 81-74, with under a minute to go, allowing C. Zvezda to advance to the title series.

Uros Tripkovic - PartizanPartizan returned to the Serbian League finals by downing FMP 90-73 in Belgrade on Sunday to sweep the best-of-three semifinal series 2-0. Partizan now needs to wait for its opponent in the best-of-five title series, as Crvena Zvezda has a 1-0 lead in the other semifinal against Hemofarm and hosts Game 2 on Tuesday. Uros Tripkovic led the winners with 18 points. Vonteego Cummings added 16 while Nikola Pekovic had 15 for Partizan. Zoran Erceg had 13 points for FMP, Branko Cvetkovic 12 and Dragan Labovic 10. Cummings led Partizan throughout the first half, as the hosts managed to get a 22-20 lead after 10 minutes. FMP struggled to find Erceg and Milos Teodosic in offense, even when Cvetkovic and Predrag Samardziski stepped up for the guests early in the second quarter. Cummings kept doing a good defensive job on Teodosic and got some help from Tripkovic and Kecman, while free throws by Novica Velickovic helped Partizan to extend its margin to 43-37 at halftime. Tripkovic and Pekovic combined for 9 points in a game-breaking 13-0 run that Vladimir Micov highlighted with a basket that made FMP call tiemout at 55-37. Pekovic kept pacing Partizan, that kept a 67-50 margin after three quarters. FMP needed a quick rally to get back in the game, but it just didn't happen, as Partizan managed to keep fighting to defend its Serbian League title.
