Greek League third-place playoff: June 19, 2007
Aris TT Bank finished third in the Greek League and clinched a spot in the 2007-08 Euroleague. Aris downed Panionios Forthnet 73-60 in Game 5 of the best-of-five Third Place playoff and joins Panathinaikos and Olympiacos as the three Greek teams to play in the Euroleague yet again next season. As such, Aris will make consecutive Euroleague appearances for the first time since 1991 and 1992. Dimitris Tsaldaris paced the winners with 18 points, Mike Wilkinson added 14 while Savvas Iliadis and Alex Scales had 10 apiece for Aris, that was once again backed by a sea of yellow fans in Thessaloniki. Kennedy Winston had 21 points for Panionios and Andre Hutson added 14. Aris rolled since the early going, getting a 21-9 lead late in the first quarter and extended it to 42-26 at halftime. Panionios never recovered, allowing all Aris fans to celebrate that their team will be back in the Euroleague next season! The Greek League season ends tomorrow in the best possible way, as Panathinaikos hosts Olympiacos in Game 5 of the finals.
