British League, Week 3: October 11-15, 2006
London United climbed to the British Championship top spot this weekend with a perfect 3-0 record. London topped the Worcester Wolves 73-83 on Saturday. Philip Perre led the winners with 24 points while Andy Harper had 19 for the Wolves, who trailed 57-65 after three quarters and never recovered. Three other games took place on Saturday. The Guildford Heat stayed undefeated at 2-0 by downing the Worthing Thunder 88-107 behind 27 points from Chad McKnight, the Plymouth Raiders beat the Reading Rockets 63-79 with Carlton Aaron leading the winners with 27 points, while Terrence McGee had 31 points to lead the Plymouth Raiders in a 109-72 home win against the London Leopards. Two overtime thrillers took place midway through the week, as the Sheffield Sharks topped the Milton Keynes Lions 92-80 on Friday while the Leicester Riders edged the Raiders 87-89 on the road on Wednesday. McGee led the Riders scoring with 27 points. On Sunday, the Newcastle Eagles had less troubles than expected to down the Raiders 95-81 at home.
