German League, Game 4: October 14-15, 2006
Sharrod Ford - Alba Berlin EnBW Ludwigsburg and Telekom Baskets Bonn are the only undefeated teams in the German League after 4 games. Ludwigsburg held off a fourth-quarter rally to beat the Artland Dragons 100-94 at home on Saturday. Jerry Green led the winners with 23 points, Jekel Foster added 22 and Povelas Cukinas 20 to make Ludwigsburg improve to 4-0. Meanwhile, Telekom Baskets Bonn improved to 3-0 by edging the Giessen 46ers 69-66 in overtime also on Saturday. Jason Conley and Jason Gardner led the winners each with 15 points. Meanwhile, Alba Berlin had less troubles than expected to defeat EWE Baskets Oldenburg 91-69 atr home on Saturday. Julius Jenkins led the winners with 22 points, Nenad Canak added 14, Chris Owens had 13 and Demond Greene 11 for Alba, which led 45-37 at halftime and broke the game right after the break. Reigning champion RheinEnergie Cologne tie with Alba at 3-1 by topping Ratiopharm Ulm 84-75 at home. Ronald Burrell led the way for RheinEnergie with 17 points, Immanuel McElroy and Marcus Faison each added 15 while Marcin Gortat and Demond Mallet had 10 apiece for the winners. In other games, Paderborn Baskets beat the Deutsche Bank Skyliners 76-66, TBB Trier overwhelmed Nurnberg 64-97, Bayer Giants Leverkusen defeated BG Karlsruhe 73-59, Eisbaren Bremenhaven thrashed New Yorker Phantoms Braunschweig 62-88 while Brose Baskets postponed its home game against Walter Tigers Tubingen to April 25, 2007.
