Dutch League, Game 3: October 14-15, 2006
The EiffelTowers stayed atop the Dutch League standings with a 3-0 record by downing the Polynorm Giants 71-82 on the road on Sunday. As such, the defending champs stay as the only undefeated team in the Dutch League. On Saturday, BS Leiden downed Woon! Aris 94-80 at home. Shelton Cowell led the winners with 22 points while JS Nash and Mick Burger each added 16 for Leiden, which improved to 2-1 in the standings. Upstairs Weert provided the biggest surprise of the week by beating the Demon Astronauts 89-82 at home. Chaz McCrommon led the way with 29 points on 11-for-15 shooting while Taron Downey added 27 for Weert, which led almost all the way until the final buzzer. Landstede got its first win of the season by edging Omniworld Almere 73-68 behind 19 points from Bjorn Kamphuis, while Matrixx Magixx improved to 3-1 and are second in the standings by topping the Hanzevast Capitals 73-69 in Nijmegen. Once again, Alhaji Mohammed led Matrixx Magixx with 25 points on 8-for-13 shooting.
