Austrian League, Game 3: October 22-23, 2006
The Kapfenberg Bulls, Allianz Swans Gmunden and the Xion Dukes Klosterneuburg tie atop the Austrian League standings, each with a perfect 3-0 record. Xion Dukes Klosterneuburg beat Basketball St. Polten 75-87 on the road on Monday to add its third straight win. The Dukes won each and every period to register a big road win. The Bulls beat BSC Raiffeisen Panthers Furstenfeld 70-60 at home. Shawn Ray led the winners with 21 points, Ramiz Suljanovic added 17, Jasmon Youngblood had 16 and Martin Kohlmaier 11 for the Bulls. Meanwhile, Gmunden also stayed unbeaten by beating the Arkadia Traiskirchen Lions 91-77 at home. Matthias Mayer led the way with 20 points, Ian Boylan added 18, Andreas Helmigk had 17 and Deteri Mayes 14 - but on 2-for-14 shooting - for Gmunden. In other games, Macabido Gunners Oberwart thrashed UBC OkoStadt Gussing Knights 86-54, Kelag Worthersee Piraten topped Basket Clubs of Vienna 92-71 while WBC Kraftwerk Wels beat the Viva 49ers 58-75 on the road.
